Android Phones for Beginners Term 2 and Term 4

Android (NOT iPhone) smart phones have touch screens and are similar to Android tablets in the way they may be used. Commonly, you will use them as a phone, and to: store contacts, do emails, read books, play games, take photos, driving navigation, playing music and video clips.

Android Tablets fro Beginners Term 1 and Term 3

Participants will probably have Samsung Android tablets.
The aim is to help students learn how to set up and use some of the features of Android tablets and to develop self-confidence to go further. Techniques include browsing the internet for research and entertainment, taking photos, using email and downloading apps.

Apple iPad out of the Box for Beginners

‘A simple easy to grasp beginner’s course’ for those with a new iPad or a refresher for those who struggle to get their head around the iPad technology.

Apple iPad - Refresher

Own an iPad and need to get up-to-date with the latest skills, Apps and special functions? This course is for you.
This is a two term course covering all key functions of your iPad.

Apple iPad Forum

A class for those who have a little more experience with their iPad but still have lots of questions on ‘How do I do.....? 

Apple iPhone

The Course is for U3A members who have recently been given or bought, or soon to buy an Apple iPhone, and for those who want to revise and update their iPhone knowledge and skills. This is a two term course. Check with Tutors for details of what this course covers. 

Computer skills - Beginners

This course will assist members in using their Windows Computers. It covers files and folders, internet, antivirus and malware, photos, music on PC, cloud storage.
Flexibility to address class member’s needs.

Computer Workshop

This is a forum for the more experienced user to interact and exchange information and advice on any form of software or hardware. We can share any favourite project or experience with the group and discuss where and how we can improve our general knowledge of computers and their operation.

Windows 10 and Office 2016 - Advanced

This course is for people who have had some experience with Windows and Office. Bring your own Windows 10 laptop. The aim is to give you an introduction to basic operations using Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
There may be a loaner laptop available.

Windows 10 and Office 2016 - Beginners

This course is for people who have had some experience with Windows and Office. Bring your own Windows 10 laptop. The aim is to help you become familiar with the Windows 10 desktop and Office menus.
