Cryptic Crosswords - Beginners

The aim is for participants to learn the rudiments of solving cryptic crosswords and to develop a love of, and enjoyment, and maybe an addiction, for them.

Drawing - All Levels

Join us to experience the pleasures of drawing. We will try different mediums and explore the development of tonal values, how to achieve wonderful light and shade in your drawings, and how to use Line and Wash to create interesting art works. Even if you have no experience at all, come and enjoy the company of like-minded friends. You will be surprised at what you can achieve with a little guidance

Improve your Photography

This is a new class for beginners and people who want to improve their photography skills.
Learn to know your camera and hear about aperture, shutter speed and ISO. We will also talk about composition and take some practice shots.
Because of the nature of the class, the group size won’t be bigger than 4 people, so book your spot today!
Please bring a notebook and don’t forget your camera!

Lunch Group

Members meet socially for lunch at a spot designated by the tutor once a month during Term. All members from other U3A courses are most welcome.

Writing Class

We have seen exciting writing produced by participants, laughs shared over humorous topics and tears over nostalgic reminiscing. The weekly topics are varied, giving writers opportunities to explore their abilities to write in different ways.

Singing for Fun

This is a non-technical group of people who enjoy singing but may not have enough confidence to join a choir. We will be singing lovely well-known songs, as well as a few new ones, in a relaxed friendly atmosphere.
