Art - Beginners and Advanced

This course is open to anyone interested in art and will cover any subject and any medium. We will work on technique and
composition to successfully produce a painting. We have lots of fun, listen to good music, and learn as much as possible. All
welcome.

Birding

Using a variety of local habitats on public and private land. Suitable for the novice and more experienced bird watchers and those with
an interest in nature. Requirements: binoculars, walking shoes, hat, water bottle, etc.

Bobbin Lace

Bobbin Lace is a very old craft. It consists of a pillow and bobbins; these will be lent to the student. This craft is not difficult once
you get going, and once taken off the pillow you will love the end result.

Computer / Internet - Absolute

This course is operating in preparation for ongoing courses people may wish to attend in future. Until a computer room is setup,
laptops are available, and work will be on a ‘one to one’ basis.

Cryptic Crosswords - Beginners

The aim is for participants to learn the rudiments of solving cryptic crosswords and to develop a love of, and enjoyment, and
maybe an addiction, for them.

Drawing - All Levels

Join us to experience the pleasures of drawing. We will try different mediums and explore the development of tonal values, how to
achieve wonderful light and shade in your drawings, and how to use Line and Wash to create interesting art works. Even if you
have no experience at all, come and enjoy the company of like-minded friends. You will be surprised at what you can achieve with
a little guidance

How to take Better Photographs

This is a new class for beginners and people who want to improve their photography skills.
Learn to know your camera and hear about aperture, shutter speed and ISO. We will also talk about composition and take
some practice shots.
Because of the nature of the class, the group size won’t be bigger than 4 people, so book your spot today!
Please bring a notebook and don’t forget your camera!

iPads One-On-One

Lessons are based on the individual needs of the student. If the student has not yet purchased a device, the familiarisation lesson would
involve the student ‘playing’ with the tutor’s iPad to determine what sort of tablet suited them. For those with iPads, the lessons range
from the basics (setting up, iCloud, security, emails) to more advanced applications, depending on the needs of the student.  Please
note that the lessons are for the Apple iPad and not for other brands of tablets.

Lunch Group

Members meet socially for lunch at a spot designated by the tutor once a month during Term. All members from other
U3A courses are most welcome.

Pittsworth Community U3A Choir

This choir has only recently become part of U3A but all members agree that it was a good move. The choir sings at local functions. We
sing in 3 or 4 part harmony, with some songs requiring a lot of practice, whilst others are more easily learned.

Pittsworth Writing Class

A small group producing many laughs over the humorous topics, and tears shed over nostalgic reminiscing. The weekly topics have
been widely varied giving writers opportunities to explore their abilities to write in many different ways. Hopefully 2017 will see the
group continue, and fresh ideas will surface to keep us tap, tap, tapping.

Singing for Fun

This is a non-technical group of people who enjoy singing but may not have enough confidence to join a choir. We will be singing lovely
well-known songs, as well as a few new ones, in a relaxed friendly atmosphere.

U3A Harmony Group

A relaxing introduction to part singing featuring well-known, easy two part songs.
