BRIDGE for BEGINNERS Wednesday 9.00am - 11.45am
Bridge is the most interesting card game. It is made up of bidding and playing and both of these aspects are challenging. It is this challenge that has players coming back for more and more. You can learn Bridge at the Toowoomba Bridge Club. The classes will teach bidding, declarer play and defence. Teaching will be conducted by one of our experienced teachers, Trudy Dunne. Players will be able to move into other sessions held at the club as their experience and skills grow.
CANASTA - Thursday 12.00noon - 4.00pm
Canasta is a card game played with 2, 3, 4 or 6 players. Learners catered for. Tutors can teach you the game. Come along and have a go.
CARDS ( 500 & Contract Whist) - Tuesday 8.00am - 11.30am
Suitable for players interested in playing cards in a friendly social atmosphere. Morning tea/coffee and light refreshments at minimal cost. Tuition will be offered. Basic playing arrangement for '500' will be 4-handed although 6-handed may be played. Contract Whist is easy to learn and guarantees lots of fun.
CHESS - Wednesday 11.30am - 1.30pm
The 'gymnasium of the mind' welcomes absolute beginners and social players too. Perhaps you have never played before, want to refresh your skills, or are feeling under pressure from grandchildren. The rules are surprisingly easy to master but the strategies and tactics are endlessly varied and engaging. Wherever you are at in the world of chess, here is the chance to grow while enjoying social interaction as well.
MAH JONG - Tuesday 2.00pm - 4.00pm
Ancient Chinese game played for fun and friendship. It is a real mind teaser. We play Western version, commonly played in Australia. The game is for 2, 3 or 4 players, usually played by 4 players as individuals, not partners.
MAH JONG for Fun - Thursday 9.00am - 12.00noon
Come and learn Mah Jong in a relaxed atmosphere. The more experienced players assist beginners. BYO coffee / tea.
