Archery

Many U3A members, both men and women, have already enjoyed this programme. No, you don’t have to be strong or really fit to be able to participate. Learning this beautiful sport happens at your pace.

Badminton

A good lively game with no sun, wind or rain to interrupt play. To play or learn, come and give it a try. We have some strong players and some not so strong.

Croquet Basics for Beginners

Learn the basics of croquet. A game for men and women of all ages.

Gateball

Outdoors and moving - played in teams of 5 - using a mallet (lightweight supplied) to hit your ball through a gate / hoop. Strategy is to keep opposing team off lawn away from gates, therefore not scoring. Games are of half-hour duration.

Golf Croquet

Easy version of croquet, teaching basic mallet skills.

Shibashi Qigong

Shibashi is a set of 18 movements or techniques perceived in traditional Chinese medicine to be relaxing, beneficial exercise, and designed to cultivate health and energy throughout the body.

Table Tennis

A reasonable level of fitness is required. We cater for those who have played previously and also more experienced players. Great exercise and a fun afternoon. (Not suitable for beginners)

Table Tennis - Advanced

Playing table tennis is an enjoyable way to stay active and alert and requires good skill. Interested people will be entered onto a waiting list as there are only limited vacancies at the moment. We play all year round, regardless of school holidays.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi can help improve fitness, flexibility, relaxation and mental concentration and assist with all aspects of health, therefore allowing you to enjoy your lifestyle. Tai Chi is easy to learn, easy to remember and easy to practise.

Tennis

We enjoy an afternoon of mixed, social tennis. Good fun and healthy exercise. We play all year. Afternoon tea is included.

We meet to try to knock over some Tenpins. Sometimes we are lucky; it’s just for fun so come along and join us..

Walking Group - Nature Walks

Ours is a fun-loving group who enjoy walking and talking in our beautiful city and surrounding areas.

Yoga

Yoga promotes a supple, efficient body, a tranquil mind, and enhanced wellbeing and energy. The balanced sequence of yoga postures, breathing exercises and guided relaxation will suit those with recent yoga experience, or beginners who are reasonably fit. An exercise mat is required. Class is full at present but vacancies might occur from time to time.
