The Pittsworth Branch of U3A in Toowoomba Inc. was launched at a community meeting on 20th October 2011. Initial contact with Toowoomba U3A was made by Peter Daley, Coordinator Regional Services, TRC. With the support of Cr Ros Scotney and the Pittsworth Community & Technology Centre publicity for the initial meeting encouraged 90 interested people to come along to find out more about U3A. A steering committee was formed the following week. Honorary membership to Toowoomba U3A was given until December 31st 2011 to enable classes to commence immediately.

January 2012 and financial membership to U3A in Toowoomba Inc was due and 75 people enrolled and by the end of 2012 the membership was 91.
Classes offered during 2012 Beginner Art, Writing for Interest, Drawing, Singing for Fun, Laptop Computers, Cryptic Crosswords, Digital Cameras and Genealogy/Family History. Birdwatching was added to this for 2013.

During 2012 a partnership was formed with the Pioneer Village and U3A was given use of a room for an office and rooms to hold classes. A grant was received from the Toowoomba Regional Council enabling an office to be equipped.
